MINIATURE AUSTRALIAN SHEPTERRIER
AUSTRALIAN TERRIER/MINIATURE (TOY) AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD HYBRID
Missouri Licensed
The Miniature Australian Shepterrier is a crossbreed between an Australian Terrier and a Miniature or Toy Australian Shepherd. Both parents are purebred registered dogs and the breed is recognized by the American Canine Hybrid Club.
To determine the breed's temperament, I would suggest that you read about both the Australian Terriers and the Miniature Australian Shepherds. The breed can derive characteristics in any combination from the two parentage breeds.
The Australian Terrier is a sturdy, short-legged, little dog that is hardy and healthy and free of any major hereditary diseases. It is a good choice for those living in apartments but the breed does like to romp and play in a safe area. The Australian Terrier sheds little to no hair and just requires brushing to bring the coat to a high gloss.
The Miniature Australian Shepherd is an easy-going, perpetual puppy that loves to play. They will do well in an apartment if they are sufficiently exercised. This breed is an average to light shedder.
When you decide on a "designer" dog, read about both breeds in the cross and be prepared for any combination of the two.
